Who and How We Serve

Ministry to the Whole Person

At Twin Orchards you would see that we are interested in ministering to the total person.  This emphasis is seen in the pulpit ministry as well as in all aspects of the program.

A discussion group, a church dinner, a family swim night, a camping trip, a ball game, our caregivers ministry, and a host of other activities constantly remind us that God relates to all of life.

Blended Services

Our Sunday morning worship services are planned by the Worship Committee to complement the speaker’s message.  A blend of music, ranging from contemporary songs and choruses to the more traditional hymns, is chosen to meet the needs of various age groups.  Skits, Bible readings, chorus selections, and special music are carefully selected to exalt the Lord in a way that is meaningful and appeals to the variety of tastes of our congregation.

Family

Family worship, we believe, strengthens the home, and strong homes produce strong persons.  A proper balance exists between age-geared programs and those the whole family can enjoy together.

We place a great emphasis on preserving the strengthening family units, including those which have been affected by divorce or death.

Children

Whatever the age of your children, you'll find that this church values them highly and strives to help parents meet their spiritual needs through clear Bible instruction.

  • Sunday School offers a class for every age, with nursery care beginning at six weeks.
  • Children are taught Christian content and trained to give expression to what they are learning.
  • Children's Church for grades 1-3, runs simultaneously with the Morning Worship Service.
  • Daily Vacation Bible School (We call it Kids Klub) is a big attraction each summer.
  • Kids Klub 2, on Wednesday evenings during the school year, has a variety of profitable and enjoyable activities to appeal to children.

Youth

Since it is increasingly difficult to "remember your Creator in the days of your youth," we have a full program to help our youth remember.

Hi-Teens (for Junior and Senior High youth) meets on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and is the center of our youth emphasis. These evenings are given to a variety of emphases ranging from social activities to serving needy folks in the community.   A teen choir, praise band, and drama team enables them to minister to and with the wider church.

Annual highlights include Teen Scene, Bible Camp or a missions trip, and weekend retreats.  The goal of all this is the development of our youth for responsible adulthood.

Adult Fellowship Groups

To facilitate friendships and provide opportunities to interact with peers in informal settings, we have six fellowship groups.  These groups meet on Sundays at 9:15 AM for meaningful Bible discussion.  Most of these groups also have monthly activities that relate to their interests.

These groups are:

    College/Career
    Singles/Singles Again
    Young Couples
Middlers (Couples with children at home)
    Primetimers (Empty-nest couples)
    Senior Saints (older retirees)

Missions

A church's heart for missions is reflected in several areas.  One is the financial commitment the church is willing to make.  A significant portion of our budget is devoted to missions.  We help in the support of about twelve missionaries and several mission agencies and send out an ever-growing number of people on short-term missions projects each year.  This church will provide interested people with many opportunities to become part of reaching our world for Christ.

Worship, Music, Creative Arts

When you attend a worship service here, you will likely notice that people are participants and not just spectators.  We believe that our worship is given as an offering of praise to God.  We encourage the use of music, drama, monologues, and other artistic expression in our service to Him.

Tape Ministry and Library

All of our morning and evening messages are recorded and made available to borrow or purchase.  These messages are also available now on this web site.  The library, accessible from the South Wing, offers a variety of books, tapes and videos for your personal enrichment and spiritual growth.

Counseling

A certified counselor oversees our Caregivers Program--a ministry to the hurting and defeated.  These trained lay counselors become the Savior's tender touch to people in need.

Our pastors are available for pastoral--not clinical--counseling. In the vast majority of circumstances this is the most appropriate help that can be given.

Deaf Ministry

In an effort to share the timeless Word with those who cannot hear with their ears, we sign most of the services for the hearing impaired.
