Why We Gather

We work hard at keeping our approach to ministry simple. So whenever we gather, our focus is on four basic goals--worship, instruction, fellowship and expression. These things are central to a church that seeks to "touch all the bases" without running out of the base paths. We keep this ministry on track by continually asking ourselves a few key questions, such as . . .

Is it Biblical?

Because the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, it is the balance on which we weigh the things we say and do. Only in this way can we avoid drifting into a meaningless faith without objective content.

Is it Relevant?

If ministry is to be effective, it must be practical. We continually look for ways to apply the truths of Scripture to everyday living. Any religion that does not affect the way a person lives is clearly defective.

Is it Authentic?

We're all familiar with the phrase, "Practice what you preach." For a ministry to have credibility, it also must follow this simple principle.

Is it Gracious?

Since Christians are saved and live by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, we evaluate our practices and attitudes to be sure we're reflecting God's grace rather than obscuring it. We want our words and actions to proclaim that we serve a God who, besides all else that He is, is gracious.

Is it Necessary?

We try to avoid the "busy-is-better syndrome" by majoring on the majors and resisting the temptation to multiply programs that do not serve the basic purposes of a local church. While we have a full program, each person and family will participate only in those helpful to them.
